Phone Fotos

Wow. Moving across continents is a crazy business. With our lives in limbo for the last six months, photography definitely took a back seat. We did finally get cell phones about two months ago. This is the first time I’ve owned a smart phone, and I’ve been having a great time playing with some of the fun photo apps out there. My favorites so far are Instagram and Flickr. I like Instagram for the social aspect, but I think I actually like Flickr’s editing options better. Here are some of my favorite phone shots so far. If you have any suggestions for fun photo apps, I’d love to hear them!

We All Scream for Ice Cream!

What do you do when it’s hot and kids don’t want their pictures taken anymore? Bribe them, of course. The genius of this plan is that they are happy, and you can get some cute pictures with ice cream. Joy all around.

Long Overdue Photoshoot

I’ve been spending all my energy on saying good-byes and packing up our lives. It’s time to take a little break to do something fun.

This past weekend I had the joy of taking pictures for some friends. They actually purchased this photoshoot at a senior class fundraiser in the fall. Being that this is Vienna, however, it’s taken until now to have decent enough weather to enjoy being outside taking family pictures. I had a blast hanging out with them. I’m sure going to miss these smiles next year. Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

Family Fun

The challenge at I Heart Faces this week is “Family Fun.” I love, love, love this picture of my friends, the Lundquists. They let me take pictures of their family this fall, and the circus just happened to be in town. I love how giggly they all are in this photo!

30 Days of Gratitude :: Day 19 – Best Friend

Well, I know this is going to sound a bit cliché, but my husband truly is my best friend. He’s the person I want to talk to when things are good or when things are rough. He’s the first one I call when I have something to share.  He’s the one person I never get tired of spending time with. He makes me a better person, and I still get really excited when he walks through the door at the end of the day. He makes me laugh, and holds me when I cry. All this, plus he’s just plain handsome!

Black

The challenge at I Heart Faces this week is “Black.” This picture was taken a few weeks ago at our staff retreat. My husband and our school director had a Tea Party Battle. Matt represented the US, and our director, James, represented the UK. They battled to see who could drink the most cups of tea. I’m proud to say that the US won. However, James was definitely the sharper dressed man in this fine suit.

30 Days of Gratitude :: Day 3 – Happiness

Well, this little one is happy because she turned 1! I’m just happy I get to know her.

30 Days of Gratitude :: Day 2 – Smile

So, since I’m getting started on this five days late, I’m cheating a little and using a picture I took last Friday. I love this picture not only because of the awesome smile, but because this guy usually makes a seriously frowny face  every time he sees my camera. Apparently, the key is to smear chocolate all over his face.  Who knew?

Fall Festival

Our annual Fall Festival is a great time. I love taking pictures at this event because the faces are so much fun!

Let Them Be Little

The challenge at I Heart Faces this week is “Let Them Be Little.” My entry is a photo of one of my favorite little ones. For quite awhile this was the face she would make every time she knew I was taking her picture. I don’t know where she picked up the idea that this was a good camera face, but it cracks me up!

You can see the rest of the little ones here:
